Job summary

Mercy seeks a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients, delivering compassionate service and upholding Mercy Service Standards. You will facilitate entry into Mercy facilities, handling scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification, financial clearance, and collections as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; telephone etiquette required.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and insurance companies.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under stress, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
• Familiarity with computers; ability to use 10-key calculator and keyboard.
• Ability to discuss patient financial responsibility, payment options, and financial assistance resources with professionalism.

Responsibilities
