Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; patient access, scheduling, registration and financial clearance experience preferred.
• Experience in insurance verification, billing or as a certified medical assistant is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage flow to ensure efficient, courteous service.
• Ensure patient demographics and insurance information are complete and accurate.
• Register walk-in patients and update information as needed.
• Obtain and collect patient out-of-pocket liability; request balances or estimates.
• Follow Financial Clearance policy when clearance is not completed.
• Refer patients to Financial Counselor for financial assistance when needed.
• Complete visit closure: schedule follow-ups, collect additional responsibility, provide docs.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements.
• Communicate issues to management for service/process improvements.
• Meet productivity and accuracy targets; maintain professional patient relations.
