Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to welcome patients, collect co-pays, and coordinate scheduling from arrival to checkout.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance processing or customer service
• OR an Associate’s Degree and 1 year of experience
• OR a Bachelor’s Degree
• Working knowledge of PC Windows applications
• Ability to perform basic math sufficient to process insurance co-pays
• Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
• Typing ≥30 words per minute (preferred)
• Epic experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and check in/out
• Collect co-pays and assist with visit preparations
• Support scheduling, pre-registration and MyChart enrollment
• Coordinate with physicians to ensure smooth checkout
• Maintain confidential patient information
• Assist with interpreter services scheduling as needed
• Travel through outpatient infusion center operations with a patient-first approach
