Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Rocky River Urgent Care seeks a Patient Service Specialist to deliver exceptional, patient-first experiences from arrival through departure. You will assist with scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, and MyChart enrollment, helping families access care efficiently.

The role supports a wide range of front-end activities, including care coordination, referrals, and scheduling, with a Tuesday 11:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m. shift and a day/evening rotation pattern.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance processing or customer service OR an Associate’s Degree and 1 year of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer services and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive, proactive and “Patients First” experience for patients and visitors.
• Investigate, triage and resolve patient issues using the HEART model.
• Create a welcome and professional environment; interact with patients and ensure stellar experiences.
• Capture and verify referrals, cancellation reasons, insurance coverage and physician data.
• Provide patient estimates for services accurately.
• Assist with MyChart enrollment and visit preparations; patient registration and scheduling.
• Coordinate interpreter services and front-end technology guidance.
• Enter and maintain confidential patient information; travel to support care locations as needed.
