Job summary

MedStar Health Urgent Care seeks a friendly, detail-oriented front desk specialist to greet patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments, collect co-pays, and guide patients through the check-in process.

You will support the flow of patients, post charges and updates to medical records, answer calls with professional triage, and participate in quality and safety initiatives within a high-reliability organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; one year of relevant education may substitute for work experience.
• Experience in health care customer service is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with scheduling systems and insurance verification is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and verify insurance information at check-in.
• Schedule appointments and manage referrals and follow-ups.
• Process co-pays and time-of-service payments accurately.
• Update demographic and insurance data in the system and maintain records.
• Provide telephone triage and assist patients with questions and needs.
