Job summary

Hanger, Inc. seeks a Patient Access Coordinator at our Waterloo, IA clinic to ensure a seamless patient experience from arrival through discharge.

You will handle front desk duties, verify demographics and insurance, collect payments, and support scheduling and patient care coordination. The ideal candidate has receptionist or medical front office exposure, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Talent Sorter assessment will be administered as part of the selection process.
• Less than one year of customer service or related experience required.
• Experience in a receptionist position or medical front office procedures preferred.
• Must have or be eligible to obtain a valid driver’s license and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients upon arrival at the front desk.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance details during check-in; handle walk-in registrations.
• Collect patient payments including deductibles, copays, and coinsurance at the front desk.
• Coordinate follow-up appointments, including cast and measure, delivery, and prosthetic care plans.
• Serve as a liaison for clinic services and provide information on patient experience programs and resources.
• Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to obtain necessary patient information.
• Maintain accurate and complete electronic health records for all patients.
