Ideal candidates bring one year of healthcare office experience, strong communication, and familiarity with medical terminology. The role supports patient flow and administrative accuracy in a busy setting with HIPAA compliance as a core requirement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of receptionist or clerk experience in a healthcare environment or one year of customer service experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes; Medical office certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones promptly and courteously, routing calls to the appropriate area or person.
• Schedule and cancel appointments; coordinate outpatient tests and surgeries per policy.
• Prepare for day by reviewing eligibility and reports; maintain patient charts and documentation.
• Greet patients and visitors professionally; explain privacy policies and delays as needed.
• Register patients to ensure accurate demographic and insurance information; adhere to HIPAA rules.
