Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: One year as receptionist or clerk in healthcare or one year customer service.
• Knowledge: Medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones promptly and courteously, routing calls to the appropriate area.
• Schedules and cancels appointments; prepares patient charts and paperwork at presentation.
• Collects co-payments and balances; assists with patient check-in/check-out.
• Performs registration for demographic and insurance information.
• Maintains HIPAA and other regulatory compliance; handles follow-up notices.
