Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first connection between Intermountain and patients.

You will greet, check-in/out, verify demographics, and resolve basic patient needs to ensure an excellent experience at McKay-Dee Medical Building in Ogden, UT. The role emphasizes courteous communication via phone, in person, or secure messaging, EMR documentation, and collaboration with caregivers to support patient intake and care while maintaining

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging, resolving patient needs to ensure a superior experience.
• Documents all phone calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Registers patients over the phone or in person by confirming and updating demographic data in the registration system.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards/IDs and signatures, verifies COI/billing details, and may assist with pre-certifications.
• Assists patients in completing forms to meet regulatory and billing needs, educates on financial assistance, and processes payments.
• Keeps updated on role responsibilities and communications to maintain high performance.
