Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first connection with patients, delivering exceptional service and verifying information for check-in/out.

You will document interactions in the EMR, schedule appointments, collect necessary documents, and assist with forms and payments while collaborating with care teams to resolve patient needs.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers to deliver high satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging.
• Documents all phone calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, tests, referrals and consultations.
• Registers patients by updating demographic data in the registration system.
• Obtains insurance cards, IDs, and signatures; may verify COB/o prior authorization.
• Assists patients with forms to meet regulatory and billing needs; educates on financial assistance; processes payments.
• Stays current on roles and responsibilities via emails, dashboards and meetings to ensure high performance.
