Job summary

Intermountain HealthCare Inc. is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to serve as the first contact for patients. The PSR will greet, check in/out, verify information, and resolve patient needs to ensure a superior customer/patient experience.

The role requires strong communication, data entry skills, and proficiency with EMR systems. The position supports scheduling, registration, and financial assistance education for patients and guarantors, with emphasis on confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills including word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers to deliver satisfaction.
• Ability to protect PHI and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person, over the phone, or via secure messaging.
• Document all calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedule appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Register patients by updating demographic data in the system.
• Collect and verify insurance information and coordinate benefits.
