Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first connection between Intermountain and patients, delivering exceptional customer/patient satisfaction by handling intake, greeting, check-in/out, and information verification.

The PSR will document interactions in the EMR, schedule appointments, collect demographics and insurance details, and assist with billing forms and financial aid information.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills including word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers to deliver satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy and PHI of patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging; resolves patient needs related to intake and care.
• Documents all phone calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Registers patients by confirming and updating demographic data on the registration system.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and IDs; may verify information for benefits coordination and prior authorization.
