Job summary

Duke Health is seeking an organized Patient Services/Revenue Clerk to support daily clinic operations in the PRMO. This role involves patient check-in/out, charge posting, and billing interactions with patients in a busy outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include preparing encounter forms, verifying demographics, posting payments, and coordinating labs and referrals while maintaining patient confidentiality and accuracy in Maestro Care.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication
• Basic PC and data entry skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and interact tactfully with customers
• Ability to apply departmental policies for verifying patient information and collecting payments

Responsibilities

• Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing next day patients and preparation activities.
• Enter pre-visit orders and prepare patient charts; handle charts, records and collections bag.
• Check-in patients and verify demographic data in Maestro Care.
• Explain billing to patients and assist with payment collection.
• Coordinate labs and procedures and manage referrals and ancillary services.
