Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to lead hands-on pastry classes and share expertise in baking fundamentals. You will inspire customers, deliver high-quality instruction, and drive sales of bakeware and decorating tools through interactive sessions.

The role emphasizes in-store culinary teaching, brand representation, and ongoing product knowledge to ensure a premier culinary experience for guests.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Culinary arts degree preferred; extensive experience may substitute.
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences for pastry students.
• Deliver in-store pastry classes and baking sessions following provided recipes and plans.
• Explain technical pastry concepts clearly and accessibly to customers.
• Maintain product expertise through training and independent learning.
• Drive class revenue and promote related bakeware and decor items during sessions.
• Monitor enrollment, reviews and guest feedback to meet program KPIs.
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and inventory of kitchen supplies.
