Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to lead hands-on pastry classes and share baking expertise in-store. You will teach techniques, present clearly, and promote bakeware and decorating tools while upholding high service standards.

The role emphasizes customer education, class revenue goals, and strong engagement with guests. Part-time schedule includes evenings and weekends, with a flexible weekly pattern.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older at time of employment.
• A degree in culinary arts is preferred; extensive culinary experience acceptable.
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational pastry experiences.
• Deliver in-store classes focused on pastry, baking, and related products.
• Explain technical concepts in a clear, encouraging manner and drive class enrollment.
• Maintain knowledge of products and stay current with training and resources.
• Support store readiness and ensure safety and sanitation during classes.
• Assist with inventory, setup, and breakdown of classes.
