Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to be the in-store expert for all things baking and pastry arts. You will lead hands-on pastry classes, share specialized techniques, and inspire customers with culinary education that aligns with our brand and standards.

You will drive class enrollments and sales of bakeware and decorating tools while maintaining high quality and safety in a dynamic retail kitchen environment. Previous culinary training and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• A degree in culinary arts is preferred; however, candidates with extensive culinary experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by delivering memorable pastry classes and experiences.
• Lead in-store pastry and baking classes with clear recipes and plans to ensure consistency and quality.
• Share specialized pastry techniques and baking fundamentals with customers.
• Drive sales of bakeware, mixers, and decorating tools through hands-on classes and instruction.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain a clean, organized kitchen area.
