Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Pastry to be the in-store expert for baking and pastry arts, delivering hands-on classes that showcase techniques and inspire customers. You will teach, demonstrate, and mentor participants while upholding brand standards in a dynamic retail setting.

You will drive class enrollment and sales of bakeware and decorating tools, ensuring a high-quality culinary experience and strong customer engagement across in-store programs.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older at time of employment.
• Culinary arts degree preferred; extensive culinary experience accepted in lieu of formal education.
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational pastry experiences that inspire repeat visits.
• Deliver pastry and baking classes and promote retail items used or featured in class.
• Communicate technical pastry concepts in a clear, encouraging manner.
• Maintain product knowledge and actively participate in available training.
