Sur La Table is seeking a part‑time Chef Instructor, Pastry to lead in-store pastry and baking classes, sharing advanced pastry techniques with customers. You will promote related bakeware and decorating tools while upholding brand standards and safety in a dynamic retail kitchen.

The role requires 1–2 years of kitchen ops experience and a culinary arts background. Flexible 12–16 hour weekly schedule includes weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment.
• A degree in culinary arts is preferred; extensive culinary experience considered in lieu of formal education.
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational pastry experiences.
• Deliver in-store pastry and baking classes following provided recipes and game plans.
• Promote retail items used or featured in class to drive sales.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down classes, prep and mise en place.
• Ensure food safety, inventory control, and adherence to SOPs.
