Job summary

USCG Base Cape Cod MWR's MWR Academy in New London, CT seeks a Food Service Worker/Short Order Cook-04 for a snack-bar style operation with limited menu items. You will perform grilling, frying, assembling salads, and basic food prep.

The role is intermittent (0-19 hours/week) with a pay rate of $19.95 per hour. Requirements include one year cooking experience and knowledge of sanitation standards; ability to follow recipes and obtain a Food Handler's Certificate is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year work experience cooking in a food service facility.
• Experience with common sanitation standards in handling and serving food.
• Ability to follow recipes and prepare salads and uncooked dishes.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete training.

Responsibilities

• Perform grilling or frying of pancakes, burgers, hot dogs, bacon, eggs, sausage while monitoring cooking.
• Prepare salads, toast, sandwiches, and desserts according to recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work area; wash dishes and operate the dishwasher.
• Assist with inventory and may collect money or operate a cash register as needed.
• Complete work independently per instructions and ensure timely completion.
