U.S. Coast Guard Community Services Command's MWR Academy in New London, CT seeks a Food Service Worker/Short Order Cook to prepare a variety of meals and snack items.

The role involves grilling, frying, assembling salads and sandwiches, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety and sanitation standards. This intermittent, part-time position requires lifting up to 40 pounds and long periods of standing.

Formación

• One year of work experience cooking in a food service facility.
• Experience with common sanitation standards in handling and serving food.
• Must be able to follow recipes and prepare salads and other uncooked dishes.
• Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler training.
• Must be physically able to frequently lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Preferred: two years or more of food service experience.

Responsabilidades

• Grill or fry pancakes, hamburgers, hot dogs, bacon, eggs, sausage and monitor cooking.
• Prepare salads, dressings, sandwiches and fresh fruit/vegetable offerings.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment and work area.
• Possibly handle cash register and related documentation.
• Assist in inventory and follow safety regulations.
