Job summary

MWR Academy Officer’s Club in New London, CT is seeking a Cook-05 INT to join our team. This intermittent, part-time position requires preparing a variety of menu items, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining food safety and cleanliness.

The salary is $20.83 per hour with a closing date of Until Filled and a work schedule of 0–19 hours per week. Responsibilities include cooking a range of items, managing inventory, and ensuring product quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in methods and procedures relating to food preparation, presentation, reading and following recipes.
• Experience following oral and written instructions and performing simple arithmetic.
• Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items (hamburgers, sandwiches, eggs, salads, etc.).
• Operates kitchen equipment using gas, electricity, steam or microwave heat sources.
• Maintains food temperatures and safe handling; covers, dates and stores items properly.
• Assists with bar-related duties such as stocking and setup when required.
• Keeps work area clean and organized; follows sanitation and safety regulations.
