Job summary

MWR Cape Cod Falcon Grill in Buzzards Bay, MA is seeking a part-time Cook-05 to prepare and cook various menu items and manage food safety and equipment operation. The role supports line cooking, inventory rotation, and maintaining quality throughout service.

The ideal candidate will have experience with standard recipes, basic arithmetic for portions, and the ability to stand for long periods. Training for a Food Handler certificate is required, and there may be occasional bar-related duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in methods and procedures relating to food preparation, presentation, reading and following recipes.
• Experience following oral and written instructions and performing simple arithmetic.
• Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks a variety of menu items such as hamburgers, grilled sandwiches, eggs, quick meals, salads.
• Operates kitchen equipment using gas, electricity, steam, or microwave heat sources.
• Maintains rotation of food inventories and proper temperatures for safety and quality.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and work areas; follows a 'clean as you go' approach.
• May perform bar-related duties and assist with setup of service bars and portable bars.
