Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a part-time RN Shift Lead I for day shift at St James Hospital in Butte, MT. The role provides clinical leadership, coordinates staffing to census and acuity, and serves as a clinical resource for staff on the shift.

The position requires a BSN within four years or equivalent acute care experience, MT RN license, and BLS. Duties include supervision, collaboration with staffing, and occasional on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required within 4 years unless 15 years of acute care service.
• Current State of Montana Registered Nurse License.
• BLS Certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and/or provides direct patient care. Assist and support staff in responding to and problem solving situations related to patient/ family complaints, Physician concerns, risk management, associate safety, and Hospital safety.
• Respond to patient emergencies as needed. Responds as the charge or lead person for disasters.
• Collaborates with the staffing office and adjust numbers of staff for census changes during the shift.
• Communicates with the oncoming Charge Nurse about census, staffing, pending admissions and discharges, any problems she/ he needs to be aware of, and any patient information that will be helpful in making assignments.
• Supports unit management team in managing department productivity/staffing and timekeeping, and coordinating unit activities.
• Participates in hospital committees as unit representative as needed.
• Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
• May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
