Qualifications

• BSN degree required within 4 years unless 15 years of acute care service.
• Current State of Montana Registered Nurse License.
• BLS Certification upon hire.
• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and/or provides direct patient care; assist staff in problem solving related to patient/family complaints, physician concerns, risk management, associate safety, and hospital safety.
• Respond to patient emergencies as needed; serve as charge or lead for disasters.
• Collaborate with staffing office to adjust numbers of staff for census changes during the shift.
• Communicate census, staffing, admissions and discharges, and issues to the oncoming Charge Nurse.
• Support unit management in productivity, staffing and timekeeping; coordinate unit activities.
• Participate in hospital committees as unit representative when needed.
• Promote Intermountain Health mission, vision and values; uphold service behavior standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• May float to other departments within competency and qualifications as needed.
• May be on-call during regularly scheduled shifts.
