Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an RN Shift Lead I at St James Hospital in Butte, MT. The part-time, day shift requires leadership on the unit, coordination of staffing, and clinical supervision to ensure safe patient care and efficient operations.

Minimum qualifications include a BSN within 4 years (or 15 years acute care experience), MT RN license, and BLS certification. The role may require on-call duties and occasional float to other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required within 4 years unless 15 years of acute care service.
• Current MT RN license.
• BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and/or provides direct patient care; supports staff in problem solving related to patient/family concerns, physician concerns, risk management, staff safety, and hospital safety.
• Respond to patient emergencies as needed; serve as charge or lead for disasters.
• Collaborates with staffing office to adjust numbers of staff for census changes during the shift.
• Communicates with oncoming Charge Nurse about census, staffing, admissions, discharges, and patient information for assignments.
• Supports unit management in managing department productivity, staffing, and timekeeping; coordinates unit activities.
• Participates in hospital committees as unit representative as needed.
• Promotes Intermountain Health mission, vision, and values; adheres to service behavior standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• May float to other departments within competency; may be placed on-call during a scheduled shift.
