Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Admitting Representative for a part-time night shift to collect and verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and financial information. The role ensures accurate data entry and correct documentation for billing and clinical records.

The position supports pre-certifications, deposits, and ABN when required, with a focus on customer service and compliance across hospital systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years in medical or high-volume customer service with data entry and insurance familiarity.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to complete AVADE training within 30 days of start date.
• Nice to have: 2 years in Emergency Department Admitting.
• Nice to have: typing at least 35 WPM.
• Nice to have: proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Nice to have: medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify demographic and financial information from patients and sources.
• Obtain signatures on consents and insurance forms.
• Enter data, pre-certifications, referrals, or deposits and update patient files.
• Notify patients and staff of insurance issues, co-pays, and deposits.
• Review physician orders for completeness and ABN as needed.
• Maintain multiple computer systems and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
