Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a part-time Hospital Admissions Representative to verify demographic and financial information, determine insurance eligibility, and assign appropriate medical records for accurate billing and clinical data. The position includes a varied night shift schedule, with 3 weekends per month and rotating holidays.

Responsibilities include data entry across systems, pre-certifications, and communicating with patients and providers about coverage and deposits.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a medical setting or heavy customer service environment utilizing data entry skills, insurance or other online websites and various software applications, including volunteer work.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association OR ability to obtain 90 days post hire.
• Ability to obtain AVADE training offered by MLK Community Hospital within 30 days from start date.

Responsibilities

• Obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information from patients and offices.
• Obtain required signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
• Enter data in computer systems and document any incomplete admissions/registrations.
• Identify insurance coverage issues and notify patients and families accordingly, noting co-pays and deposits.
• Review physician orders for completeness and ensure information is listed.
• Complete Medicare Compliance procedures and ABN as necessary.
• Maintain multiple computer systems and ensure accurate documentation.
• Provide courteous customer service and escalate unresolved issues to a supervisor.
• Answer telephone calls using pre-established script and assist callers.
