Job summary

Phillips Academy's Addison Gallery of American Art is seeking a Part time Visitor Services Associate/Greeter to warmly welcome museum guests, guide them to exhibits, and help maintain shop operations.

Reporting to the Security Director, this role requires good communication, cash handling, and basic computer skills, with occasional evenings and weekend shifts; perks include free museum access and parking.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Cash handling experience with accuracy.
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort with POS systems.
• Availability for some evenings and weekend events.
• Ability to lift light items and move about the gallery.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage visitors and coworkers.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and direct them to exhibitions while sharing museum policies.
• Assist Security staff and stay informed on post orders and procedures.
• Answer the Museum’s main phone line and route calls to staff.
• Monitor and manage the Museum Shop; process cash/credit transactions.
• Restock inventory and maintain neat Shop presentation.
• Stay informed about current and upcoming exhibitions and events.
