Job summary

Putnam History Museum is seeking a Visitor Services Associate to serve as the friendly face of the museum in the front-of-house areas. You will deliver outstanding visitor services and may assist with related education and promotion projects.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the museum, handling admissions and store sales, answering questions, and guiding guests through exhibitions. This seasonal, part-time role runs mid-May through mid-December with hourly pay of $16.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or guest-facing roles preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Able to assist visitors and answer questions politely.

VisitorServicesAssociates are responsible for providing outstandingvisitorservicesin the 'front of house' areas of the museum. As the face of the museum to our visitors, the ideal applicant will have excellent visitor service skills and be excited about local history. Associates may also assist with other projects related to museum education and promotion as assigned.

Duties include:

• Opening & closing the museum
• Answering calls and monitoring the galleries
• Conducting admission and store sales
• Introducing guests to the exhibitions and answering questions

Hours: Part-Time, 11:30 am - 4:30 pm
Pay: $16 per hour.
Available days: Wednesday, Thursday, and operates as a substitute for Friday/Saturday/Sunday as needed.
Seasonal position, mid-May through mid-December
