Job summary

The Hunterdon Art Museum seeks a Visitor Services Associate to welcome guests, manage admissions and memberships, and supervise front desk operations, shop, and public spaces. You will train and schedule front desk staff and volunteers, assist with outreach and exhibitions, collect visitor data, and support daily operations to ensure a welcoming, efficient museum experience.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in customer service; experience in a museum or cultural organization preferred.
  • Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.); experience with donor databases is a plus.
  • Interest in contemporary art preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs.

Job description

The Hunterdon Art Museum seeks an enthusiastic and organized Visitor Services Associate to help create an exceptional experience for every guest. As the first point of contact for visitors, this role is central to welcoming the public, supporting daily operations and fostering meaningful connections within our community. The Visitor Services Associate oversees front desk operations, supports visitor engagement, coordinates visitor services staff and volunteers, and helps ensure the museum’s galleries, shop, and public spaces operate smoothly and professionally.

Salary: $17/hr, no health benefits. Schedule: Wed – Fri, 10:45 to 5:15 with option to cover occasional special events and programs.
