Job summary

Tidewater Community College in Suffolk, VA is seeking an Assistant Program Coordinator for Healthcare-Workforce Solutions. The role supports Nursing and Allied Health training programs and coordinates class scheduling, student enrollment, and grade maintenance.

You will work with the AVP and program coordinators, supervise bookstore processing, provide student customer service, and help develop training materials. This is a part-time, on-site position with a 29-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of and demonstrated ability in managing processes, procedures projects and handle multiple competing tasks.
• Assist in the support of all healthcare instructors for the program in the absence of the Coordinator.
• Knowledge of training needs in the healthcare sector as it relates to the local workforce.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate, communicate and work effectively with faculty, staff, community, and agency leaders.
• Ability to oversee processes and procedures for the overall management of the program in the coordinator’s stead.
• Demonstrated ability to establish cooperative working relationships with a diverse group of individuals and organizations as it relates to healthcare.
• Ability to make oral and written presentations and to assist with the development of effective training programs and materials.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a highly complex work environment.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for scheduling all healthcare classes and inputting course information into the Workforce Enterprise System (WES).
• Work with the Enrollment team to ensure students are enrolled in the appropriate class.
• Maintain all grades for students completing training by inputting information into WES.
• Oversee the bookstore processing for students entering healthcare courses.
• Provide customer service and follow up to students interested in training programs.
