Job summary

RTI International is seeking self-motivated and outgoing individuals for part-time Field Interviewer roles on the National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG). You will travel to households, screen for eligibility, and conduct in-person interviews using a project tablet, while maintaining confidentiality.

Position offers a flexible, part-time schedule (≈20 hours/week, including weekends/evenings) with training in January 2027 and opportunities to work remotely between field visits where appropriate,

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
• Effective communication skills through speech and listening.
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
• Available for entire training and data collection period.
• Able to successfully complete training.
• Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal automobile for business use.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop and other equipment.
• Access to password-protected Wi‑Fi for data transmissions and responsibilities.
• Able to keep project information confidential.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and after dark.
• Must be comfortable asking survey questions on sensitive subjects.
• Must be willing to work approximately 20 hours a week, including weekends and evenings.
• Must be comfortable working in unfamiliar areas.

Responsibilities

• Traveling to locations to recruit study participants.
• Locating dwelling units and recruiting respondents for interviews.
• Interacting with households without a prior appointment.
• Conducting in-person NSFG interviews in private settings.
• Transmitting data as scheduled.
• Managing project-issued equipment with care.
• Submitting timely Time & Expense reports.
• Attending virtual meetings via Zoom.
