Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library is seeking a Customer Services Specialist for the New Albany Branch on a part-time schedule (20/24 hr.). The role involves delivering friendly customer service, guiding patrons to resources, and assisting with library services in a busy branch environment.

The position starts at an hourly pay range of $18.01–$23.26, commensurate with experience, with benefits and retirement plan participation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with Internet and database services.
• Ability to operate library technology including PC and software (Windows/Microsoft Office).
• Reliable transportation to report to assignments per job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process and sort materials accurately and efficiently, including returns and reserved items.
• Greet customers and answer basic reference questions in person, by phone, or online.
• Assist customers with library accounts and payments, ensuring accuracy.
• Balance cash drawers and handle deposits and reports.
• Open/close location, order supplies, and maintain bulletin boards and spaces.
