Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library is seeking a part-time Customer Services Specialist at Linden Branch. Starting pay ranges from $18.01 to $23.26 hourly, commensurate with experience.

You will be the primary contact for customers, resolving questions and guiding them to resources while handling transactions and library services. The role requires strong communication, basic tech skills, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to express self effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of Internet and database services.
• Operate library technology including Windows/Microsoft Office and other equipment.
• Reliable transportation to report to assignments.

Responsibilities

• Processes and sorts materials accurately and efficiently.
• Greet customers and answer basic reference questions in person or remotely.
• Assist with library card accounts and process applications.
• Balance and reconcile cash drawers and prepare deposits.
• Resolve customer account disputes by interviewing and negotiating.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and maintain location materials.
• Provide training on library technology to customers and staff.
• Coordinate volunteers and assist staff with Customer Services tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
