Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Part-time Sales Associate at our Champaign branch to drive customer relationships and growth. You will engage in B2B sales, using a consultative approach to demonstrate the value of our inventory management solutions. This role involves local travel to customer sites from the Champaign location.

Ideal candidates are 18+ with a valid license, strong communication skills, and a customer-service mindset. The position offers part-time hours and a 401(k) plan as a benefit.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Have a valid driver’s license and meet driving record requirements for use of a company vehicle.
• Possess or are pursuing a degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Management or related field OR have customer service or industry-related work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills and sales aptitude.
• Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented.
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support B2B sales and customer service activities.
• Provide value through a consultative sales approach.
• Develop new relationships and grow existing ones from leads and referrals.
• Coordinate resources to respond to customer service needs.
• Perform local sales calls using a company vehicle and visit customer sites.
• Perform other duties to ensure branch success.
