Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Part-time Sales Associate for our Public Store at 1101 W Madison St, Springfield, IL 62702. The role supports B2B sales, uses a consultative approach, and focuses on building new and existing customer relationships in a branch setting.

Position offers 10–28 hours per week with shifts Mon-Fri 7:00am–5:00pm. Requires a valid driver’s license, strong communication and math skills, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• A current full valid driver's license with ability to meet driving record requirements.
• Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Management or related field OR customer service/industry experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Aptitude for sales and a customer-focused mindset.
• Strong organization and planning abilities.
• Problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills.
• Core values: ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.
• Ability to lift, slide, carry and lower packages weighing 25–50 lbs (up to 75 lbs).
• Pass a drug screen where required.

Responsibilities

• Supporting B2B sales and customer service activities.
• Providing value through a consultative sales approach.
• Developing new relationships from leads, referrals and prospecting.
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer service needs.
• Performing local sales calls using a company vehicle to customer sites.
• Performing other duties to ensure branch success.
