Job summary

North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician II at Stone Mountain State Park. The role involves maintaining park grounds, facilities, and equipment, with duties spanning carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and auto mechanics.

Schedule typically Monday–Friday, with potential evening or weekend work. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year in related trades, plus state certification expectations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and 1 year of progressive experience in the trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated work experience in at least two trades: carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics.
Experience with grounds maintenance, buildings, facilities, and grounds maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform semi-skilled tasks in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance.
Operate large and small equipment and tools as needed.
Purchase resources following state policies and procedures.
Maintain records and prepare operating forms.
Assist in housekeeping and supervise temporary staff or volunteers on projects.
