Job summary
The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources' Stone Mountain State Park is hiring a Maintenance/Construction Technician II. You will perform semi-skilled trades, maintain park grounds and facilities, operate equipment, and assist in projects, with potential supervision of staff or volunteers.
Typical schedule is Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with some evenings, holidays, or weekends; requires outdoor work in varying conditions, a valid US driver’s license, and the ability to
Qualifications
- High school or GED and at least one year of progressive trade experience.
- Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or auto mechanics.
- Experience in grounds maintenance and building/facilities maintenance.
- Must have valid US driver’s license.
- May require Class A CDL within 12–24 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Perform semi-skilled tasks in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and auto mechanics.
- Operate large and small equipment and tools.
- Purchase resources in accordance with state purchasing policies.
- Maintain records and prepare operational forms.
- Assist in housekeeping and supervise temporary and permanent staff, volunteers on projects.
