Job summary

The State of North Carolina, Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation, seeks a Maintenance/Construction Technician III (S) at Jones Lake State Park to maintain grounds, buildings, and equipment. The role supports rangers and staff, performing varied trades and supervising personnel on select projects.

Applicants must meet education/experience requirements and may obtain certifications such as CDL, CPR, and more within 12–24 months.

Qualifications

Demonstrated work experience performing trades in at least two of the following: carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics.
Demonstrated experience in performing grounds maintenance/landscaping.
Demonstrated experience in performing maintenance on buildings, facilities, and/or grounds maintenance equipment.
Demonstrated experience reading and/or interpreting blueprints/structural specifications and/or building codes.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled tasks in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance, and/or auto mechanics.
Operate and repair of various large and small tools and equipment.
Purchasing resources in accordance with state purchasing policies and procedures.
Maintaining records and preparing operational forms.
Assisting in housekeeping.
May supervise temporary and/or permanent employees including volunteers on special projects.
Maintaining preventative maintenance on tools, equipment and facilities.
