American Red Cross in Columbia, SC is seeking a Blood Collector Staff-Customer Service to support donor care and blood collection operations. Paid training provided; no prior medical experience required.

You will engage donors, ensure a welcoming environment, and help maintain safety standards during the collection process. The role includes flexible schedules including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, with starting pay at $18.73 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• DOT certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors—listen to their stories and explain the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment so donors feel comfortable returning.
• Be detail oriented; ensure blood collected meets goals and regulatory requirements for safe transfusion.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup/teardown at donation sites.
