Job summary

The American Red Cross in North Charleston, SC is seeking individuals to support blood collection as phlebotomy trainees. You will assist donors, help set up collection sites, and follow safety procedures while delivering lifesaving blood donations to hospitals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and long hours.
• Position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to operate vehicles safely.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors and explain the impact of donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Be detail oriented to ensure collected blood meets goals and safety standards.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup and teardown at sites.
• Support mobile blood drives at various locations.
