Job summary

The American Red Cross is hiring for a phlebotomy-oriented role where you will use healthcare and customer service skills to support blood collection processes. You’ll help transport and set up equipment at collection sites, create a welcoming environment for donors, and follow safety procedures to ensure lifesaving donations reach hospitals.

The paid phlebotomy training offered will grow your healthcare skills within our humanitarian organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1-year prior phlebotomy experience required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights, long hours and possible height requirement to operate vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand how impactful their donation is.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment so donors feel comfortable returning.
• Be detail-oriented to ensure collected blood meets goals and safety standards.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and setup/teardown equipment at donation sites; position may require a minimum height of 60 inches.
