Job summary

The American Red Cross is hiring to support blood collection operations. You will be trained in phlebotomy and work to ensure welcoming donor experiences, while following safety procedures to collect lifesaving donations.

Role includes flexible scheduling with mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Starting pay is $18.65/hour, with potential increases based on experience and location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and long irregular hours.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to operate Red Cross vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors and explain how impactful their donation is.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors to return.
• Be detailed oriented to meet goals, regulatory requirements and safe transfusion of blood.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup/teardown at donation sites; height requirement may apply.
