Job summary

Target offers a Stores Executive Internship (paid, 40 hr/week) to develop and prepare you for store leadership. You will work closely with mentors to lead a team, drive guest experience, and manage daily operations while learning Target’s leadership expectations.

You will engage in hands-on training, learn to drive store performance, and participate in development conversations to grow into an ETL-like role within the stores.

Qualifications

• Guest service fundamentals and experience building and managing a guest-first team culture across the store.
• Guest engagement; problem-solving and resolution.
• Retail business fundamentals.
• Setting and planning department(s) workload to support priorities and goals.
• Managing a team of hourly team members and leaders; coaching and development.
• Recruiting, selecting and talent management of hourly team members and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Spending time on the store salesfloor and backroom leading team members and aligning the team on daily priorities.
• Working with mentors and leaders to understand their roles.
• Leading through daily priorities (stocking shelves, ensuring a welcoming environment).
• Partnering with leaders regarding team performance and providing feedback.
• Delivering an exceptional guest experience by ensuring team members are knowledgeable and empowered.
