Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member is an entry-level, paid, full-time role focused on coaching and mentoring students across elementary to high school. You will work with teachers to improve academic success, attendance, and behavior while planning and monitoring individual progress.

The program provides 2–4 weeks of training, ongoing support, and opportunities to develop leadership and community impact while serving students and schools.

Qualifications

• AmeriCorps eligibility requirements: U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, age 17-25 by July 1, 2025, GED/high school diploma or some college or degree, up to three AmeriCorps terms, background check, able to start by July/August 2025.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring students 1:1 and in groups
• Develop literacy and math skills through varied activities
• Create and implement behavior management; support classroom spaces
• Participate in school-wide engagement and after-school programming
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and participate in data reviews
