Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to boost academic success and attendance. This is an entry-level, paid, full-time AmeriCorps role with two to four weeks of initial training.

You will work with elementary to high school students, plan lessons, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers to improve classroom outcomes. Benefits include health insurance and a bi-weekly living stipend.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided.
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students.
• Work with teachers and staff to support student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to identified students.
• Develop literacy and/or math skills with varied activities by student level.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect, record, analyze and monitor student progress.
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space in collaboration with the teacher.
