Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across grade levels to boost academic success, attendance, and positive behaviors. Training is provided at the start of the year, with ongoing support from partner teachers and school staff.

This is a full-time AmeriCorps service opportunity in a school setting. You will participate in classroom activities, data collection, and collaborative reviews, with benefits including education awards and a living stipend.

Qualifications

• Experience in all listed tasks not required; 2–4 weeks of training provided at the start of the year.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary to high school students to achieve academic success and better attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support teachers with classroom instruction and activities.
• Create engaging, safe, and supportive classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers.
