Job summary

City Year seeks entry-level AmeriCorps members to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels. You will help students achieve academic success, improve attendance, and build positive behaviors, while planning progress and supporting in-class activities with teachers.

2–4 weeks of initial training are provided, and you will work closely with partner teachers and school staff to ensure effective student support and engagement throughout the year.

Qualifications

• As an entry-level AmeriCorps role, training is provided at program start.
• Coaching and mentoring students is a primary responsibility.
• You will collaborate with teachers and school staff throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in groups to support academic success.
• Plan literacy and math activities; encourage assignment completion.
• Support behavior and interpersonal skill development in students.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and data.
• Assist with school-wide initiatives and family engagement programs.
