Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members will coach and mentor students to boost academic success and attendance, while collaborating with teachers on classroom activities and student supports. You will help plan progress, monitor outcomes, and implement behavior strategies in a supportive school setting.

You will receive comprehensive training, work with diverse students, and contribute to school-wide initiatives. This is an entry-level, full-time AmeriCorps role in the United States.

Qualifications

• Mentor elementary, middle, or high school students.
• Provide literacy and math support with varied activities.
• Develop positive behaviors and growth mindsets.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress via city year data system.

Responsibilities

• Coach 1:1 and small groups of students.
• Plan and monitor individual progress and goals.
• Support teachers with in-class instruction and small group work.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers.
• Participate in program trainings and ongoing coaching.
