Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps Member is an entry-level, paid, full-time position dedicated to student success. You will coach and mentor students across grade levels, supporting attendance, literacy, math, and positive behavior in partnership with teachers.

Extensive training is provided, and you will participate in school-wide initiatives to engage students and families while receiving City Year benefits and AmeriCorps supports.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Ages 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• GED or high school diploma; some college experience or degree.
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to support academic success.
• Plan and monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers on instruction.
• Develop literacy and math activities and help implement behavior support plans.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space and support school-wide initiatives.
